New Scania truck with transporter engineering +11 superstructure & trailer

As part of our ongoing commitment to invest in new equipment and technology, Freemans have recently taken delivery of a Scania P410 unit supplied by Truck East, Wellingborough.

The truck has the latest Euro 6 compliant engine, a fully automatic 12 speed gearbox and is fitted with ‘lane departure’ and ‘brake assist’ facilities to aid safety.
Driver ‘home from home’ comforts include air conditioning, refrigerated storage and an improved sleeping area for overnight stops.

Although the carrying equipment has been designed to accommodate 11 mixed cars, where a low number of small cars are introduced, the outfit can legally load 12 vehicles providing greater flexibility for our customers.

In order to ensure reliability, stability and longevity, the unit was specified to be equipped with the latest Michelin tyres and will be covered by a full Repairs & Maintenance through the supplying dealer.

Look out for KX16 ZRC on the road and its driver Keith Harris who has over 20 years of car transporter driving experience under his belt.

Adrian Barkes

During November 2015, our appointed Driver/Trainer, Adie Barkes, successfully completed a Driver/Trainer course undertaken in conjunction with Vehicle Transporter Training, a training provider dedicated to safe operations within the car transporting industry.

Adie was instructed and subsequently assessed on subjects ranging from Safe Systems of Work to Driving Efficiently. He has now accomplished an ability to train new drivers, appraise and guide existing drivers ensuring company procedures, legal compliance and safety operations are met by regularly applying his skills across all
members of the driving team.

Whilst Adie was assessed and trained on Belle/Rolfo equipment, his skills have subsequently been applied to Transporter Engineering superstructures and trailers.

Certificates have been awarded by VTT as a recognition, specifically covering Safe Systems of Work and Driver Training which have been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport 2016.

Adie is now committed to utilising his newly achieved award and is looking forward to passing on his developed skills to benefit the remainder of the Freemans driving team thus improving performance and quality operations.

Alice Kettle

Freemans are pleased to announce that their Transport Manager, Alice Kettle has successfully completed the very demanding course to attain her Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport for Transport Managers covering both National and International levels of operation.

Alice has recently been advised that she has passed her examination despite low National pass rates and is now the owner of a framed certificate issued by the Road Haulage Association displayed proudly in the Freemans Transport Office.

Our congratulations have been passed on to Alice from the staff at Freemans together with kind words from customers and suppliers.
